    Pats Pimped and Kustom Kombi

  My Comments

Pat sent his Kombi to me from Darwin in the Northern Territory. Pat has owned his Kombi for many years and had decided to give it a Birthday. Pat had Dreams and Ideas for this Kombi for many years but never found the time to get it done. Pat had always wanted a Kustom Kombi and finally he had what he wanted.

Pat had a Big Wish List of things he wanted done and a list of Kustom Options.

List included: - Kustom “L” Shaped Lounge/ Bed, Full Stereo System with Sub Woofer, VDO Gauges, Passenger Swivel Seat, 18x8 Alloys, Lowering, ETC. The list was long and comprehensive.

Pats Kombi started of as a clean looking Kombi but was in need of a lot of work. I believe that the Kombi was originally an Ex Air Force Vehicle due to it Location and Factory Colour Yellow. It was the same Colour as the Split Kombi Mobile Tower that I converted to a Food Van. There were Switches on the dash for Flashing lights and Holes in the roof where the Lights were.

The first thing to do was to start to strip everything of the Kombi and remove everything that is not needed. There was a lot of wiring that was not Factory and not needed. I always put the wiring back to Factory Standard, that way; there are not Switches everywhere. The Dash looked like a piece of Swiss Cheese once I had removed it all.

Once the Kombi was stripped it was then sent to the Soda Blaster to have the Paint removed where necessary. Once Blasted the rust was removed and re plated.

Part 1 of this Kustom Kombi will show the Kombi arriving and the Start of the Bodywork.
